One of Gwen & Nathan's projects last week was a paper mache turtle. After it dried (it sat on our counter for about 5 days), it was time to paint. Now Nathan loves to paint, but his idea of what needs painting is not always the same as ours. After the turtle was green enough, it was time for finger painting. Not fingerpainting ... finger painting, as in painting his fingers.

Last weekend, Dad & my cousin Luke came up to go fishing. As payment for staying at our little bed & breakfast, they helped hang all the drywall for Nathan's "big boy room." We also required that they supply us with one of their fish for Friday's dinner. YUM!
It was a long 2 days, but we got it all done.
The ceiling turned out to be the easiest. Apparently we live in a parallelogram house, which basically means the floors and ceilings aren't level or square and every piece of drywall needed cut a few times before it fit.
Tonight I finished up the last pieces in the closet. My trusty sidekick was there to help, of course.
On a completely unrelated note: how cool is it that Penn State is ranked #3 in the BCS? Pretty exciting. I'm sooooo glad they beat Michigan, and hopefully they can run the table and get that glass football trophy.
Dad did say it was real FUN putting up the drywall. He had fun and enjoyed helping you out and spending time with Nathan. See you on Sat.
